How do you make your living room/house smell nice?

Mine smells of...nothing! Except last night's dinner. I'm not a fan of candles but are there any nice room fragrances that you recommend? The Glade stuff seems quite synthetic. I spray zoflora on our rugs but can't say it seems to last iyswim

I have to recommend Rituals room spray and diffuser. They are not cheap but they smell incredible (like a spa). My favourites are Imperial Rose and the Happy Buddha (now called Mehr something). They make me happy.
