Undoing a hem!

So my 15 yr old continues to grow up but not out 🙄.

I'm undoing her hems on her trousers which are now too short but are still way to big around her waist. They are now ok (potentially for a month until she no doubt grows again) but have a big hem crease in them which needs to go!

Any ideas how to remove the crease?

A steamer, or steam from an iron should help :)

Damp cloth and a steam iron, might take a couple of goes

Ds had school trousers from M&S that had a hem you could take down ie it was a double hem. I have just had a quick look on the website to see if I can see them but alas I can't. Just for future shopping for you.

Drop the hem, wash them with the dropped hem which will help a little with the crease then steam, steam, steam.

Thanks, I've shoved them in the wash and will use a steam iron! Hopefully they'll pass the teenage test (although to be fair she has such limited options!!)

If they have any polyester in them, the crease will have been thermoset in during the manufacturing process. You can make it less obvious by ironing along the crease with a damp cloth, but you probably won’t get rid of it entirely.
