Candles with Jewellery in

I am starting my Christmas shopping now as I need to budget and also get nice presents for my family and friends.

I've seen so many ads in my Instagram feed for candles that burn down to reveal a piece of jewellery.

I think my best friend would really like this.

But they are quite expensive and I wondered if anyone had bought one and if they thought it was worth the money.

There are so many different brands in just not sure which ones are the best.

TIA

Isn’t the jewellery all waxy?

Coldhandscoldheart · 01/09/2021 19:47

Sorry, completely not what your asking, I’ve never seen them, but that’s what I thought of first.

annacondom · 01/09/2021 19:49

Could you make one?

Isn't it mostly cheapo stuff with allegedly one diamond ring in one in a million or some such dodgy odds??

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 01/09/2021 19:54

yes... ImperialCandles

they even do their own online appraisals up to an RRP of £2000 Hmm

nancybotwinbloom · 01/09/2021 19:57

The jewellery seems to come in protective wrapping so not waxy.

I don't know if I could make one. I've never tried candle making! I can do flowers and make my own Christmas wreaths etc. Just wondering if you need expensive tools or equipment to make candles and if it's hard. I will look into that!

The ones I have seen are all sterling silver jewel inside.

I've just never known anyone I know to buy one so I don't have any firsthand experience of whether they are any good or not.

I've bought from Imperial Candles for DD. Bath bombs, not candles though. The jewellery is OK/good. Not cracker-tat, and not super high-end. I'd buy again if her style was 'normal'!

HumbugWhale · 01/09/2021 20:13

Will she definitely burn the candle? Just thinking that candles I have been given have generally gathered dust on a shelf for a few months before being binned or given to the charity shop!

nancybotwinbloom · 01/09/2021 20:16

She will definitely burn the candle she is obsessed with buying candles

I've just watched the Video. You don't even need to burn the candle all the way down. Love this idea Op. Go for it.

The candle on its own is lovely, anything else is an added bonus. 😊

Wouldn't that be a massive fire risk?

Fire safety with candles is a tightrope at the best of times.

I bought my aunt an Imperial Candle for her birthday and she got a sterling silver pendant with a purple stone which she loved. The valuation label said it was worth £30 but whether it was or not she loved it, wears it and it hasn’t turned her neck green.

MrsSkylerWhite · 01/09/2021 20:56

You’d have to let them know: I usually discard the last inch or two.

OhRene · 01/09/2021 21:01

I like the look of Imperial candles jewellery but it's definitely not worth much. Still, the candles smell amazing and the jewellery is indeed pretty. And to a PP who mentioned fire risk, it's a foil type wrap, not paper and the candle is in a jar.

nancybotwinbloom · 01/09/2021 22:03

I think I will give imperial a go thanks so much. We normally spend about 20 to thirty on each other so I will get her one.

Isn’t the jewellery all waxy?
Not they're wrapped in foil to prevent this
