Do work have to provide somewhere

I work as a receptionist in an office but public facing opening onto a high street we get half an hour for lunch but have no where to take it. there is a cafe in the building but you obviously can only eat food purchased from there. Then there is a open bit upstairs so when there are no clients you can eat there but it’s not often. We also have no kettle fridge or microwave. We had a meeting room/ locked office but I’ve been told is being used full time soon and not to be used as a lunch room. I can leave to take my lunch but small area only one pub near bye.

I also can’t eat at my desk and when I’m on lunch someone from my team will cover my desk and sit there

No idea if they have to provide somewhere I’m afraid but they won’t win any awards for valuing their staff. Can’t imagine they’re a good company to work for. You could contact ACAS. They know all there is to know about employer's responsibilities.

Looks like they do have to provide somewhere to rest and eat. Interesting. We’re expected to stay in our offices

Yes they do. The link posted above is accurate. If you work in an office (unless it's local government) then this is enforced by your local authority.
