What's the nicest smelling washing powder?

I accept that this is possibly the most inane question I've ever asked in my life, but what's the nicest smelling washing power/ fabric softener? I've used eco stuff for years and it smells of nothing, or even a bit foosty. When my neighbour washes her stuff I can smell it from across her large garden (I don't feel like I can ask her without looking like an idiot). I don't air dry my stuff and I'd like to buy something that has a nice/ lasting smell even after tumble drying. TIA

Surf it’s best for cleaning as well.

So subjective! A lot of love for Fairy on this thread but it makes me gag (had to strip my bed linen in the middle of the night last time I used it, it was that bad).

I use Persil Non-Bio with the white Comfort softener and I'm often told that our washing smells like babies (which I assume is a compliment!). I've had the same problem as you with Ecover - smells lovely in the bottle but unless I do tiny loads or really high temps, my washing always came out smelling like old towels.

I'd just breezily ask your neigbbour! I love it when people tell me our laundry smells nice Grin

I love the smell of the Surf detergents but don’t think it lasts long at all. Right now I’m using Ariel with Lenor softener and the smell lasts much longer.
