The BBQ bus has left the station, hasn't it? Time for Casseroles?!

Actually, it feels like we never really got a good BBQ season this year - I'm hoping we can squeeze one more out of the year, before the bad weather settles in, in earnest.

However, tonight it's devilled sausages, mash, and veg'. Followed by chocolate mousse.

What's for tea in your manor?

I caved last week and went toad in the hole, served with hot veg and thick gravy, all the while muttering about August.

I just bung it all in. Using small chicken breasts today but it’s nice with thighs too. I use any Mediterranean type veg I have in. Can add a cupful of Marigold bouillon for extra liquid and seasoning if needed but I had garlic cloves today so just used salt and pepper. 7ish hours on Low setting.

Tomatoes are tinned.

The bbq bus has well and truly gone into the cloudy sunset.
So far we’ve had beef pie, venison steaks and having chilli today.

Lasagne and garlic bread in our house 😋

We had chicken lasagne, salad, and garlic bread last night - I felt it straddled the seasons quite effectively!

BBQ here tonight though we will eat it inside and I am stood out here in my coat cooking it

Slow cooked beef casserole with mashed tatties, honey roast parsnips and cabbage.

Okay, you lot are rekindling my love of wintry foods.

Moussaka tonight. Then a slow cooked beef stew with carrot and swede mash tomorrow! I would normally do dumplings but low carbing at the moment

Oven jacket potatoes here. Ready for bonfire night!

Oh god I am so with you. So sick of BBQ, it rained the other day so I put the oven on, very thrilling

We planned to have a bbq last Sunday but the weather was overcast and we decided to cook the burgers and sausages in the cooker and ate inside. Don’t think the bbq will get used again this year.

Tonight we’re having something freezer to oven but tomorrow we’re having cottage pie. I’m going to cook the meat in the slow cooker during the day and then transfer it to oven topped with potatoes. I serve the carrots separately with broccoli and gravy.

Broccoli risotto tonight and I’ve got beef stew in the oven cooking for tomorrow so we just have to reheat. Will either serve with rice or jacket potatoes and green beans
