SAR request - is this right?

I supported my daughter submit a subject access request to an organisation, which then became a joint request. We were given the information just over a month later but were informed the practitioners were given the opportunity to complete/amend notes before they were shared with us and after they were aware of some of the concerns being discussed. This was despite my daughter being closed to that service weeks prior. Does this sound right/normal procedure?

I'm afraid I don't know, but would suggest you ask The Information Commissioner's Office - tel: 0303 123 1113 or webchat.

Not an expert but I believe it depends on the nature of the SAR, whether it was in relation to medical, employment, client relationship etc.

No idea. But I'm guessing this is in relation to Social Services with the way you describe being closed to the service? If that is the case, then they can redact information so details of children etc are not identifiable.

Thank you. I will contact the ICO. It relates to a service for young people (not social services) similar to but not counselling. The organisation have acknowledged in writing there have been several records changed, in addition to ‘missing/not recorded communication which makes me extremely concerned. The first part of the complaint has been partially upheld. Some of the parts they dismissed were due to missing evidence which we have on emails/ documents sent but not uploaded at their end!

And no, it’s not redeacted information. It’s complete omission of communication and information shared that they haven’t acknowledged. There are several comments where they said they failed to record conversations but remember them 8 months later 😟 but these they totally deny despite them being time and date stamped

I can't answer your question I'm afraid but I don't anted to share my experience with the ico recently. Similar to you an individual against an organisation and the ico helpline was really friendly and helpful. I was worried they would expect me to know GDPR etc and they didn't at all

Thank you. This is so helpful, I have been really apprehensive about calling so this is reassuring. May I ask what you did next/wether it helped?
