ok hmmm. i didn't make a great start to the mn forums. i'm a guy who decided to make a username with a female name and post a thread asking about who had made friendships in real life from the group. ok not the brightest idea i had ever had as many people here thought i was using the forum to catfish. tbh in hindsight a totally understandable conclusion really, but as it is a forum where everyone is annonymous i never gave the username a thought and i said at the time i chose my old username based on the fact i would like the name if i ever had a dd. also the thread was perfectly innocent hindsight again. but to talk of the group in general, seen some great posts and some very supportive people use it something i think is testament to the admin that they are using this forum to help and be almost like a family. i know if i do have a family of my own this is a good forum to come to, ok yes bad eggs exist but they exist in every walk of life. keep doing what your doing and i look forwards to posting more with you. take care.

Do you actually subscribe?

I thought this was going to a MN Premium thread.

Anyway. If you’ve been here for a year, even under what sounds like the dodgiest of intentions, you surely know that announcing that you’re here or that you’re leaving is a bit bizarre and unnecessary.

vodkaredbullgirl · 30/08/2021 17:59

Punctuation wouldn't go a miss.
@adam7485 There's a lot of man haters on here. So I feel for you.
Or just women who are heartily sick of men believing their perspective is needed and of value in all areas. It’s not.

@TheWholeJingbang

Why are menz so fucking WORDY?
They have the spare time for all the extra words because the women in their lives are picking up all the wifework and mental load.
adam7485 · 30/08/2021 18:02

@sparklingbrook. yes you actually commented on the thread i'm talking about where i asked if any real life friendships had come from mumsnet. look, not being funny i don't want to get into that at all. just was trying to say although i made a few mistakes since becoming a member of the forum i appreciate what the forum is and what it is supposed to achive. and ps i am an honest person who if i had to supply my real details would have done so willingly upon registration so what about just commenting on the post in honesty.

Oh now I remember. Hmm

MayContainNits · 30/08/2021 18:04

Maybe there's a 'special MN subscription' for men? Like the unnecessary £79 my DH paid to have someone apply online for his US tourist Visa, or the unnecessary £75 he thought I needed to pay to have someone fill in my deed poll application?

TwooThirty · 30/08/2021 18:09

i appreciate what the forum is and what it is supposed to achive.
The things is, based on this post, I don’t think you really do quite fully understand what this forum is.

Maybe after another year.

Choice4567 · 30/08/2021 18:24

I am commenting on the post in honesty. Your spelling is terrible. The point of posting your OP is yet to be found.

Choice4567 · 30/08/2021 18:28

Please reveal what a year’s ‘subscription’ has to do with anything

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 30/08/2021 18:30

A man has arrived to bless us all with his thoughts.

So unusual in this day and age.

Thanks for putting yourself out there op. I'm fed up with reading women's perspectives on a site predominatly for women.

Thank you for your well balanced view.

adam7485 · 30/08/2021 18:36

i do know what the forums are trying to achieve. it's a general parenting forum for parents but also includes forums and topics for people to just generally chat i knew that from before i joined. sorry my spelling doesn't match up to your expectations but i thought it was a forum not a english class plus you don't know whether i have dyslexia or not!. some of you will remember me now such as sparkling but i came on here to 1 set the record straight and 2 to partisipate in the forum like everyone else. never mind dog haters, i agree with someone up thread about man haters.

But you still haven’t explained what it is you want to discuss with this thread!!!! 🤦‍♀️

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 30/08/2021 18:42

I'm sure everyone will be absolutely thrilled to have your permission to continue posting on a forum that's existed for twenty years.

Surely not twenty years, that would make me old. Oh, wait a minute. Grin

Just participate in the forum then ? No one even needs to know you're a man. If you like the forums that much just post on threads or read threads. Why do we need the elaborate setting of the record straight?
trevorandsimon · 30/08/2021 18:46

So, what's your point exactly?

LawnFever · 30/08/2021 18:47

Threads come and go constantly, if you know how this place works you’d know that…

I’m sure nobody has been sitting on the edge of their seat waiting for this update about a username a year ago, if you want to participate just crack on, no need to announce your arrival Confused

NiceTwin · 30/08/2021 18:48

I shall buck the man hating trend on this thread just to say I get what you're saying @adam7485.
Not sure what all the hate is about Confused

Well there are but to be fair this is just a really weird pointless post Grin

adam7485 · 30/08/2021 19:03

ok cool to the pp who said just post and crack on. i think i wanted to so called set the record straight and make a new start on the forums because i have seen so many of the same posters on my previous threads and other threads that to an extent all be it virtually, you get to know each other. nothing more or less lol .don't do an evlis with a suspicious mind lol.
