DS will be 13 in a couple of weeks and I am at a loss of what to get him.

He has asked for a swathe of Lego kits and PS4 games. I’d like to get him something less insular!!

He’s not into clothes
He has everything he needs for his sport (archery)
He’s not into football etc
The fleece onesie that was a big hit last birthday still fits
He’s got an Alexa, phone and iPad (sob, bought with the refund on my big birthday trip that should have been in April 2020).

He’d love an astronomy/stargazing “experience”, but I can’t find anything in the UK (prob looking in the wrong places).

He actually has a fair bit of pocket money saved (over £100!) but he’s too tight to spend it!

If he's no good at football, a visit to see Mikel Arteta.

@MummyJ12, if you’re in York, you’re not too far from Knottingley, and The Brick Box, where they have a room full of Lego and a very enthusiastic guy who encourages you with building. It’s not a club as such, more of a builder’s den. He’s open weekends and Wakefield school holidays.

Thank you everyone for the ideas on this thread. He will get the Lego he wants and a PS4 game, I’m not going to deny him that.

@JellyBabiesSaveLives, he has one very close friend who he sees out of school, but is also friendly with several other people. One moved away, and us not longer in walking distance, but still at the same school. A lot of his friends live on a new estate at the edge of the village and just hand our/knock fir each other and bump into each other informally.

Thanks for the suggestion for the star gazing activities. Upon further googling, I’ve come across the Yorks Dales Dark Skies Festival next winter - definitely want to get involved with that somehow.

The astronaut experience is brilliant!!!! @PennyWus, my PiL only live about an hour from Didcott!!

@leavesthataregreen, he’s G4 Classical guitar. His guitar teacher would like him to play in the school music service guitar group. DS is toying with this idea.

@lannistunut, we live deep in the bottom of a valley!

@TheWordsmithsApprentice, if we had the space he could have all of those things, but we barely have space for people!

@JellyBabiesSaveLives It’s not me in York no, but not massively far away, so the Yorkshire suggestions are great.

@PennyWus, have you got first hand experience of the astronaut experience. Both DC would love it, a d they both have birthdays before half term, so could combine with a trip to the PiL. If we are still allowed to travel!
