Black out curtain question.

Sorry, very boring, but I've just bought a pair of black out curtains which looked fine when I opened the pack. I hung them to check size and again all looked well, so I tightened the taping, ironed on cool iron as advised on the label and turned the hem up by an inch. This was all done at night, so dark outside. Hung them on the rail only to find in the morning that there were lots of pinprick holes in the blackout coating and it looks like a constellation! I've not bought them before, so I'm not sure if this is acceptable not. They cost £55 so not expensive, but not really cheap either. Should I try and return even though I've tightened and hemmed them, or is it my fault for not checking in daylight first?

My sister had this and returned them no issues at all, it’s a fault after all.

I would've thought you can return them as they are essentially faulty. You wouldn't expect pinprick holes in blackout curtains so wouldn't think to actively look or check for them. It's not your fault that the holes have only now become apparent to you.

Holes mean that the curtains are faulty, so you can certainly return them.
My blackout curtains are very similar although I can only blame the cats claws Grin

That's really helpful, thank you all! I was worried I was being too fussy. I'll call the customer service number on Tuesday.
