Posting here for traffic.

Just that really. Something personalised with 18 on it would be good. Thanks

It's really difficult without knowing your daughter.
Fitness or gym membership of her choice.
Money towards a car or driving lessons.
Savings account (a grown up one with good interest rate with money gift)
Spa day with friends
Gadget she wants
Clothes voucher

I don't think most people like personalised stuff so I'd go for a small personalised pic collage of baby to now photos from Moonpig etc if you must.

I made a photo book for DD1 on Photobox of lovely photos from the last 18 years.

Definitely not jewellery with eighteen on it. It'll not be worn beyond one year.

Just the responses on this thread show how varied we all are - if someone bought me jewellery I'd be horrified! So it's really hard to recommend for someone you don't know.

We're just moving this over to Chat. Cake

One of those giant Millie's cookies with 18 in icing on. And loads of swirls so there is more icing.

Any recommendations?!

Ours wanted Pandora charm bracelets, and other relatives joined in with the charms etc. Each one easily cost nearly £500. Now they all declare them as naff, and they're languishing in a drawer.

Hence I really wouldn't advise any type of fashion jewellery.

For their 21sts, we were wiser and the eldest has got a silver Tiffany chain and pendant with her initial. She's never taken it off. One had a leather handbag for work (Kate Spade) and the baby had money as she couldn't think of anything and she's now got some savings.

You can open premium bonds from 16. DH wins a hundred or under every so often. No big wins but there's always hope. A £25 win will mean a lot more to an 18 year old too. (Unless they are loaded I suppose).
MaskingForIt · 27/08/2021 15:49

Oh, I thought you meant a savings account, not gambling.

BelleOfTheProvince · 27/08/2021 16:25

It's not gambling. It's a government scheme that can't go down. You can just 'win' increases at random.
