Better public loos, and the absolute right to use the loos in bars and cafes without being a customer. It's only by travelling that I've realised how bloody awful our public loo provision is in the UK.

Souks. I love souks.

Beach bars with free swimming pools.

Oh and bigger houses as almost every country ever seems to have bigger houses than us!

I'm from the North of England but have lived in Northern Spain for 18 years. I love the siestas, I love the clean streets, the bins are emptied every night but you take your own rubbish out to them. The food is OK but not as fresh or varied as the UK. The meat is not as good and is expensive. We can eat out for 12 euros , 3 courses, bread and wine but perhaps a bit rougher and rustic than the UK. Think pigs cheeks, lentils with tripe etc. All alcohol is very cheap but not a lot of drunks around. I love my life but miss Tesco , the theater and big cinemas.

I live in Australia and would like to see public footpaths over private land as in the UK, though I'm well aware they are an ancient right, that many landowners would be very glad to be rid of.

@Geamhradh

40 ? I’m sure it’s far higher in the UK. Domestic violence rates are sky rocketing here.

@Babyiskickingmyribs

I’m in France. I wish they had more education on food safety and hygiene here. The number of times I’ve shocked friends and family by refusing to eat reheated rice that was left out in the sun all afternoon or salad cut on a board just used for raw chicken (not washed in between) is frustrating. They think I’m mad. I think they’re just wrong.
unbelievable: salad cut on a board just used for raw chicken (not washed in between)

I spent a year working in the USA. One thing I have always admired about Americans is their unashamed patriotism and pride in their country. In the small towns you see the flag on many houses and people stand at football games for the national anthem. Americans also value their troops and their veterans.

In the UK you dare not fly a flag because its might upset some minorities. British people shuffle out awkwardly rather than stand for the anthem.

You are not allowed to express pride in being British because you might upset the woke/snowflake brigade.

Seriously? Out of everything you could choose from this is the top of your list? Pathetic.

@Anordinarymum

I would like to pay at the pump with a figure punched in so the petrol cuts off before I spend more than I want to
Tesco already does that!

From
USA - great customer service and a positivity which is refreshing (before it tips into jingoistic unthinking patriotism).
From India and many other cultures the colour, beauty, food, vibrancy.
From Spain (and some other med countries/areas) what appears to be a more happy socialised childhood experience. And more balanced public alcohol use.
From Scandinavia social policies and all round respect - politicians and policies which seem to come from a desire to serve and enrich the population - just fail to see that here in the UK as a guiding principle any more.
I want so cite anywhere that women and racial minorities can live without fear and violence and with equality but am struggling really to identify anywhere obvious Sad

Better bike lanes (I don't think we can do anything about the hills).

A decent bakery on every parade of shops. I fancy opening a local bakery just so I can go there.
