Where to holiday in the U.K. with 13 and 16 year olds

For the last 6 years we have had a touring caravan and dh and I have loved every minute of it. The kids also loved it when they were little.
Sadly for the last year or so our (nearly) 16 year old ds and 13 year old dd have not enjoyed it so much. There are so many boxes to tick to please everyone and it’s just not working so we have decided to sell the caravan (dh and I will buy another when dc are old enough to stay at home) and although the caravan is a big 4 berth with 2 adults and 2 adult sized teens it’s becoming crammed and uncomfortable, so sadly it’ll have to go.
Ds will be 17 next October so may not come away with us. Dd will be 14 and will probably bring a friend with her.
If you have young teens, where have you gone on holiday on the U.K. (not centre parcs) which went down well with the teens as well as the adults?

DD isn't quite as old but I'm starting to look at more activities based holidays, she's recently learnt to horse ride and there are some riding holidays that she'll probably enjoy next year (I'll have to learn first). If not maybe focus on looking at city breaks instead, we had a great time in Glasgow and Edinburgh we stayed in Premier Inn and Uni Halls which Dd quite liked.

I don't consider beach holidays as an option as we already live near a lovely beach with a big tourist resort nearby.

This year we stayed in North Berwick. We'd intended to surf but didn't get the waves. However, there's a fantastic outdoor adventure centre just outside Dunbar called Foxlake. Ours did segways, wakeboards and a rope course. We had a great day out in Edinburgh for shopping, museums etc.

Scottish highlands are great for adventure based holidays, we go to visit family every year and there is lots to do this year we did quad biking but last year was rafting we paddleboard at loch morlich but there are also mountain bike trails and walking.

There are lots of places for kit hire etc
