Bella Italia bottomless pizza?

Is it truly bottomless and worth the price over just buying a single pizza? Can an average woman reasonably manage to eat more than one pizza (and perhaps a few bites of a second) at one sitting? Assuming they haven't deliberately starved themselves to increase their appetite. Does Bella Italia's 90 minute time limit include the pre-eating time during which the pizzas are ordered, prepared and served, or does the "timer" start once the first pizza has been brought to the customer's table?

I didn’t know this was a thing. Love the idea but would prob struggle to eat more than one so it would be a waste .... bottomless prosecco however 🥂😊

PeonyTime · 23/08/2021 16:10

Not seen the advert, but on holiday, my 12yr old ate a whole pizza (plus starters and desert) in Bella, so I'd think many adults could eat more than one.....

BigSandyBalls2015 · 23/08/2021 16:11

The timer will start from the time you booked your table

anniegun · 23/08/2021 16:13

Thanks for the heads up on a restaurant I will now avoid like the plague!

LubaLuca · 23/08/2021 16:16

I went a couple of times in the 90s to Pizza Hut with male colleagues for the unlimited lunchtime buffet. They could eat ridiculous amounts of pizza! It was helping yourself to slices of several types of pizza though, rather than ploughing through a whole pizza then starting on another, which seems less appealing.

Russell19 · 23/08/2021 16:16

Love it how you say 'average woman' as if men eat more. I can eat way more pizza than my husband and he's a 6ft, 15 stone bloke 🤣🤣

pianolessons1 · 23/08/2021 16:33

The rugby club at my med school used to go to the unlimited pizza hut buffet, think they usually managed 25-30 slices each!

hamstersarse · 23/08/2021 16:35

God that's gross

doadeer · 23/08/2021 16:45

One pizza is enough. Not to be a spoil sport but honestly we've really lost perspective on what normal eating is. And I'm not a "I have half a slice of domino's" person. But really... Two pizzas would be very glutenous

JackieCollinshasnoauthority · 23/08/2021 16:50

The idea is to have a variety of different toppings so I expect most would eat the equivalent of a whole pizza.

LubaLuca · 23/08/2021 16:51

Two pizzas would be very glutenous

They can do gluten-free if you ask, I'm sure.

doadeer · 23/08/2021 16:54

Hahahaha.

I knew that didn't look right when I wrote it but was posting in a hurry

gluttonous

(I just managed to spell it a further 3 incorrect ways ha)

FTEngineerM · 23/08/2021 16:55

I think it’s more aimed at someone who can’t decide which toppings, rather than how much. It’s only £1-3 more expensive than one pizza.

Galassia · 23/08/2021 16:58

What pleasure is there in gorging such a vast amount?

Isn’t it better to take your time to saviour your food and eat less?

MrsMiddleMother · 23/08/2021 16:59

I didn't know they did this! I imagine it would be great if you were sharing with someone who ordered a smaller main or a young child.

Galassia · 23/08/2021 16:59

You could always round it off with a wafer thin mint

HelenaRavenclaw · 23/08/2021 16:59

Not sure if @LubaLuca's reply to @doadeer is a knowing joke or genuine mistake on top of a mistake! I believe @doadeer meant "gluttonous" but wrote the malapropism "glutenous".

If you finish one pizza and one or two pieces of the second at Bella Italia, do they let you take the rest of the second one home?

JackieCollinshasnoauthority · 23/08/2021 17:05

You don't get a whole pizza, they serve slices. It's just a buffet with table service.

AlfonsoTheMango · 23/08/2021 17:29

There are MNers who would stuff their pockets for later, because "the prices were highway robbery" or because they "don't eat much so that's a way of getting value".
LubaLuca · 23/08/2021 17:31

It was knowing, and not very funny.

doadeer · 23/08/2021 17:34

I thought it was funny. I'm a horrible speller

refreshingseahorse · 23/08/2021 17:42

The pizza on buffets has fewer toppings compared to menu pizza so it's cheaper to make.
