Did anyone else bloody hate their masters?

I have just submitted a draft for my online MSc, completed over 2 years and am waiting for the supervisor to come back ripping it to shreds as frankly in sure it is crap. I'm glad it's at least off my huge to do list for now and whatever she comes back with, I can action. I just want a pass, don't give a shit about getting a high mark!

I just feel a bit disappointed in myself that I didn't enjoy having it as an academic goal etc..i set out with such good intentions of doing loads of extra reading and getting a good mark but it was such a slog all the way through, not hard topics exactly, just constantly hanging over. I only really engaged enough to do the assignments, not really anything else.

I've had a lot of challenges this last year and a lot going on at once, which hasn't helped.

Did anyone else find their masters draining like this?

I did my masters whilst working full time with a toddler and a dog. It was nuts for a while and I just wanted to get it over with but I do look back and feel an enormous sense of pride that I managed to do it.
Fingers crossed you get good feedback and can get it finalised and submitted.

Yes me. I also found out I’m pregnant (was a shock!) at the end of May and that threw me along with working full time. It’s been a slog. To mention my plans after graduating (hopefully!) will now change as I’ll have a baby and I’m currently a Nanny and it just makes sense financially to stay as a Nanny for the next few years anyway to be with my baby and be earning.

Anyway, it’s almost all over and I am just hoping to pass at this point. All my work up until this point has been 2:1 level. Same as my degree. I honestly had intentions to improve and really buckle down and reach my potential friends in the masters but I seem stuck in my own ways. I am a consistent student and can’t seem to reach that next level, which is frustrating but it’ll do!

My MA was bearable ONLY because I'd taken voluntary redundancy from my work and used the redundancy payment (a years salary) to have a year off work to study and put my 1 DC in nursery!

Hats off to you you all juggling study, work and family, you're doing amazingly well!
