Orthopedic shoes that look stylish

I need orthopedic shoes or I end up in pain -Combination of issues one being planctar facilitis and one still being investigated thought it was mortons neuroma but that has been ruled out.

I have birkenstock and can use them when walking around but they are more summer shoes for me. I wear toms with inserts in the winter inside the house i can not do this for more than a few hours without getting sore feet.

For shoes I wear Allegria Paloma usually from here however as much as I love them as I can wear them all day and not be in pain. Sometimes I would like a shoe that's 1 more plain in colour (patterns with floral clothing can look odd) and 2 i would like not all my shoes to be that 1 style.

I do NOT want sandals I can not wear sketchers or crocs (I know they will be suggested they hurt my feet) and fitflops whilst I can wear their thicksoled sandals their shoes are almost always to thin for me and I end up in pain.

Any other suggestions. I am willing to spend the 100 -150 the allergia are if they are shoes that work.

Oh lastly I have recently started a job where smart office clothing is expected and yes I'd like to find a nicer pair.

Have you tried Hotter?

Enko · 21/08/2021 10:30

Yes and not found their shoes great. I really have complex issues Sad

Do you have removeable orthotics?

Have you tried Pavers, some of theirs are good for feet with issues.

Enko · 21/08/2021 12:57

Yes I have some removable orthotics but they are likely to change

I know you said no sandals but Teva is the best in this space. I find them way better than Fitflops

Galassia · 21/08/2021 13:03

Are these any good?

Have a look at Joya shoes. Not the cheapest but deliciously comfy. Wide and cushioned with a rocker sole which is ideal for plantarfasciitis and pain from mortons neuroma or similar.

Enko · 21/08/2021 13:05

@Galassia I oddly ordered a pair from there yesterday to try. I don't know if they will be ok but certainly look interesting

Will look at teva too. I said no sandals as I have 3 birkenstocks 2 allegria and 2 fitflops so not really in need there. But you never know

Sorry if stupid question but if you have orthotics your best bet is to get some decent boots (nice flat leather Chelsea boots?) or similar with laces and put your inserts in. You don't need specialist orthopaedic shoes which are a poor second to specially measured orthotics! I wear mine in trainers, converse, boots etc so much more flexible

LIZS · 21/08/2021 14:37

www.shuropody.com/ might have a branch near you.

Enko · 21/08/2021 14:43

@Thepathofleastresistance I hate boots I find they completely overheat my feet and I do not find them nice looking at all.

I also do not like trainers or converse this was why I Asked for stylish looking shoes. I do not find that the orthotics takes it fully (and like I said I am still under investigation to find out the actual issue so chances are they are not fully correct) I am with a podiatrist but so far no luck. I am waiting for an appointment from the hospital to come through to get a closer view of what is happening.

I got several pairs of shoes from here - www.rogersonshoes.com/ - some have removeable insoles so you can put in your orthotics. However, bear in mind my idea of stylish may not be yours! I like funky, quirky shoes but you may be looking for a more classic style.

I have these (got them for a trial first) and love them. Often get mistaken for DM's by people (I was in so much pain from PF I didn't care about how they looked). These are expensive but have totally cured my PF by wearing them everyday for several months.

I do this too.

Thank you everyone some options to look at.

Boots are a no go I don't like them at all and my feet overheat badly I shoes that are closed around them.

Its good to see there are some places where they are looking at making shoes look nice and also not ruin our feet. I love the idea of trying them on a trial. I can recall winching the first time I bought the alegria shoes as it was a lot of money to shell out not knowing if they would work.
