Just that really. I’m struggling. Severe panic attacks for 24 hours. Haven’t had them for years. DH is a star and with children but I can’t do today. I want to go to sleep permanently.

Sorry to hear @BabbleBee

Are you able to stay in bed for a couple of hours to give yourself a little time before facing DH and DC?

Favourite book, big duvet, hot chocolate. Some Rescue Remedy if you can get hold of any. Sleep when you feel like sleeping, put the telly on something relaxing (like Gardner's world or an old film you've watched countless times, nothing stressful like a soap or reality TV). Avoid any caffeine if you can.
You've got this. It will pass!

In bed with cat. She’s helping… her purring is soothing

Have you tried the headspace app before? There are some brilliant meditations on there for when you’re having a panic attack. They are just a few minutes long each and you can access those ones for free - they really helped me out when I was having panic attacks.

Sorry I haven’t come back sooner. It’s been severe today. GP gave me propanalol

Have you been taught any grounding techniques OP? Sounds like your cat works as one! They get you to focus on specific things, which switches which part of your brain is in charge in the moment.

Also singing really helps op. Belting out a song helps regulate your breathing. It will pass Flowers

Also, what does your GP say when you discuss with them? I mean, are they sympathetic? I would like to discuss similar with my GP, but feel nervous and would like to know the sorts of things they say.

Sending you a hand hold. Anxiety is really horrible. Flowers

Thank you everyone. The propranolol is really helping.

@Bookridden I’ve had mixed experiences over the years. The GP yesterday was lovely.
