Lego land single mum anxiety!

Hi I know this sounds silly but hoping there are some understanding people who can give some advice. I am a single mum to 3 children and have booked a coach day trip in a few days to lego land Windsor. I suffer with anxiety and want this trip to be special but I'm full of panic! I am worried about finding my way around and the most about making sure we can find our way back to the coach on time or it may leave without us! I get panic attacks and worried I may have that feeling whilst there. I just want a special day out for my kids and enjoy it but I don't want them to see me feeling anxious. Has anyone done this trip in this way before and did it go smoothly? Thankyou for any advice I know it may sound silly to some but I'm a nervous person and trying to overcome these anxieties

How old are the kids?

Have you downloaded the legoland app? We were there last week and the app has a map in it to help find your way around and shows you the queue waiting times.

If you can afford it, I’d recommend the queue jump pass so you’re not waiting too long for the rides. They aren’t cheap though

There’s also a little tram/train that takes you back to the top of the resort right near the entrance so you can just hop on there to get back. They run all the time

There is a paper map and also an App you can download to your smartphone. The signposting is very clear. One thing is not to promise your children that they can definitely go on a specific ride. Rides have height restrictions, can have technical difficulties and there are also queues, so you might decide to look rather than queue, and visit something else. Pack small snacks and drinks.

Time how long it takes to get from the coach to a appoint in the park, then time how long it takes from that point to another day on the middle of the parka nd wrote it down. Then you know how long it should take plus a toilet visit, to get back to the bus

Just plan to be back at the coach 15/20 mins before it needs to leave and you will be fine , take a photo of where it is in the car park and it’s reg number . You won’t get lost in the actual park as it’s very well signposted .

If it's a "special" coach trip, they won't leave until all the passengers are aboard.

alrightfella · 19/08/2021 22:05

How old are the kids? I'd be concerned that if they are too young each child would need to ride with an adult which will be difficult for you.

pleasekeeptotheright · 19/08/2021 22:11

The coach won't leave without you. Set an alarm on your phone for 30 minutes before it is due to leave and then all visit the toilet and head back to the coach.

Tips

Get the app before you go and study it.

Have a walk around on google earth to familiarise yourself.

Take a power bank and lead for your phone.

Buy 3 little Lego sets to take with you and 3 bags of sweets for the way home and give them just before the gift shop Wink

Take snacks and drinks and things to do in the queues in case they're long!

VickyLouT · 19/08/2021 22:23

I always work out which ride has longest wait then try to go to it at lunch time (eat picnic lunch in the queue) so it doesn't seem so long a wait! I am sure you will have a great day.

I go to Legoland quite a lot, it's my happy place, download the app, but there is clear signs everywhere.

If you can all wear comfy shoes with a backpack that helps. Little kids might like to play in the splash zones so a spare T-shirt might be good if you have room.

234Pepperplant · 19/08/2021 22:38

They will insist on swimwear in the splash zones - I watched several clothed children being turfed out and a roaring trade at their on site swimwear shop. You will need more than a spare t shirt.

Get the app - it will tell you the length of the queues. Queues for food at lunchtime are nuts, take a picnic if you can.

You’ll find your way around easily enough and their staff are around and quite helpful/happy to direct.

Lots of good advice on here.

Download the app before you go and make a list of all the things you want to do.

Take a backpack or cross body bag so you can be hands free.

I find the food outlets aren't always very nice, so I prefer to take a packed lunch and eat whilst queuing for a ride/attraction.

You can hire a locker to keep your extra bags/jackets in. I recommend hiring one towards the middle of the park, rather than the entrance, so you don't have to keep going back to the entrance to get it.

Aim to get to the entrance 15-20 minutes before the coach leaves and buy the children an ice cream while you are waiting.

Try and remember some of the other people on the coach, so you can follow them if you get lost.
