Bargain jewellers

So a lovely elderly relative wants to buy dd birthstone earrings for her upcoming birthday. Must be genuine stone and in a silver setting also as dd has sensitive skin but relative has asked me to source some and they are all so expensive! I can't go back to her with ones over £50, I'd be embarrassed so does anyone know any bargain jewellers where I could get cheap sapphire studs?

Pawn broker.

How would you tell what's genuine on Etsy? I'd hate to buy something and discover it's just a coloured stone

Another one saying loads on Etsy. Also, try Amazon as they have a lot of jewellery that's reasonably priced.

Failing that, could you tell the relative they were e.g. £20 and make up the difference? I know it's not ideal and hopefully you'll find some that are in budget.

Thanks @Twatterati but i wouldn't want to lie to her about it, she's amazing and I just want to find the best option

Warren James? They seem to be reasonably priced, a few high street branches still around or pretty good online.

I think most of the Etsy shops are pretty straightforward about what they’re selling.
Loads will say “sapphire” in the headline description, but read the details carefully and they’ll usually say whether they are:
Genuine natural sapphires
Lab created sapphires (these are actual sapphire but created / grown in the pan, rather than dig out of the ground).
“CZ” or “crystal” or similar - pretty shiny stones that are coloured blue and are only “sapphire coloured”.

The thing is sapphire is a precious stone so tends to be set in gold. Hsamuels has some sapphire studs set in white gold in a rub over setting which looks quite modern. Just under 50 quid. I think they used to be a club card partner so you could triple points if you have them.

No problem with lab created sapphire and nonissue with gold either I suppose, just thought silver would be cheaper.

Thank you everyone I'll check out these suggestions ... and I do have Clubcard points!

Pewterhooter London do sterling silver studs. They do a sapphire sparkling crystal pair. So not genuine sapphires, but I recommend. I also get an allergic reaction to non-precious metals. I have no problems with these earrings. I like them so much a have over 30 pairs! They are sold on Amazon for under £10! Various colours. And the stones have not fallen out like some other brands I have had. They are really sparkly too.

Looking for a genuine stone, not crystal but thanks

Some here

If you sort price high-low, the more expensive ones (£30-40) are real sapphire.
