My vagina is annoying me

I was treated for a UTI 2 weeks ago and all settled. Just after then I started my period (late as they've been all over the place post covid vaccine) and its varied from sticky brown to red clotty to red scanty. It's been 9 days and my vaginal opening really hurts Blush I'm still light so not wearing a pad so it maybe irritation? I'm in a new relationship and really want to have sex tomorrow Sad

I use Sudocrem. I figure if you can use it on babies then you can use it on adults. It’s a barrier cream so will quickly resolve any period soreness because it protects the skin.

@greyhare how old are you, if you don't mind me asking? I'm wondering if I'm peri at 44.

Hope you feel better soon OP!

CabbagesGreen · 17/08/2021 21:38

Sorry..
No it can start in your mid to late 30s but it probably just got a bit irritated?

I'm 47, and things have been slowly getting worse since I was 45, I'm flushing and my memory is absolutely shot, the joys of getting older.

Don't put PeriPeri on it!
Made me laugh!

It feels a bit better today. I think because my period has been so long the pads may have irritated it ? I'm still bleeding slightly but I'm going without a pad.

Spoke to Gp 5 days of antibiotics and fluconazole. Can barely sit down.

Natural yoghurt on a tampon is a known remedy to restore the balance of bacteria in there . I used to find that any scented products caused massive irritation. If it’s very dry it can cause irritation so maybe something like Vagisil?

Kwackerly · 21/08/2021 11:12

Ah you poor thing, I hope it feels better soon and glad you saw a doctor, it's rubbish having a broken vadge. Mines broken too and off on holiday, luckily suoerdrug have delivered antibiotics this morning Brew solidarity with not being able to sit comfortably, if it's thrush an Epsom salt bath can help a bit.

Kwackerly · 21/08/2021 11:15

If it's cystitis, can 100% recommend d-mannose, it's a supplement I saw recommended on NHS website, it's fantastic at stopping you getting it and treating it. I got sloppy and stopped taking it daily and here we go again- I won't forget after this! I got mine from Amazon.

BabyRace · 21/08/2021 12:59

Maybe a moon cup or period pants moving forward if sanitary towel are irritating. Wishing your vagina better

Menissues · 22/08/2021 09:54

Thanks for all your help. My vagina is less sore today but still a bit itchy up there Blush. Hopefully the 12 quid fluconazole will have helped.
