Fabulous afternoon tea suggestions in London?

We did want to come to London to go to Claridges but it’s full. So is the Dorchester, The Savoy and the Goring.

I’ve booked Browns Hotel and I can book Fortnum and Mason but I wonder if anyone has any suggestions for a special occasion afternoon tea?

Oh yes another vote for The Langham too

Bebelle9 · 17/08/2021 20:44

Yes, I highly recommend the Langham too. I've been to the Dorchester too but much preferred the Langham.

Tobebythesea · 17/08/2021 20:47

I went to Fortnums last month and it was great. Honesty one of the best afternoon teas I’ve had. On a par with the science afternoon tea at the Ampersand.

London bus afternoon tea is good.

NotYourCupOfTea · 17/08/2021 20:48

Swan at the globe is really good and a bit different

Blueuggboots · 17/08/2021 20:48

The Sanderson.

Aldwych One for their Charlie and the Chocolate Factory afternoon tea.

Pre-covid had a lovely afternoon tea at the Chilworth.

condensationwindows · 17/08/2021 20:57

Oh this is an amazing response. Thank you everyone. Will look at all the suggestions.

Browns. Every time.

ThePlantsitter · 17/08/2021 21:01

Corinthia is the best London afternoon tea I've had, and I have a bit of an afternoon tea habit Blush

Waxonwaxoff0 · 17/08/2021 21:04

The Shard. You get the great views as well.

CoastalSwimmer · 17/08/2021 21:04

My favourite is The Library at County Hall. Ask for a window table for fabulous views of The Thames and Big Ben/Houses of Parliament.

Horizons83 · 17/08/2021 21:05

I love Browns so if you have that booked already I wouldn’t worry!

frazzledasarock · 17/08/2021 21:10

Harrods the Tiffany blue box cafe was really lovely. They kept bringing more and more sandwiches and replenishing (non alcoholic) drinks. The cakes were so pretty too.

ThePlantsitter · 17/08/2021 21:11

Oh yes browns is lovely too, didn't see you had that booked.

BebesChamber · 17/08/2021 21:12

Harrods. Unbeatable.

ElaineMarieBenes · 17/08/2021 21:14

Browns is much better than Fortnum for afternoon tea! I’d stick with the booking you have!

Kitchendilemmas · 17/08/2021 21:32

@Dogoodfeelgood

Absolutely fantastic high tea at Petersham Nurseries as well, but that’s in Richmond so quite far out. Would recommend to everyone though!
There's one in Covent Garden too
IamChipmunk · 17/08/2021 21:58

Oblix at the Shard. You can pay extra for a window seat!

essentialhealing · 17/08/2021 22:03

We're going to F&M next week, I bought the experience for DH nearly two years ago!

It will be our second time. Can't fault it

Lentilbaby · 17/08/2021 22:06

Another for Sketch!

IveNameChangedAgain2020 · 17/08/2021 22:09

Sketch. I did like fortnum too. Loved Ham yard hotel.

mogtheexcellent · 17/08/2021 22:09

I love the booking office at st Pancras station.

LBOCS2 · 17/08/2021 22:11

I like Fortnums and I really rate the savoury tea they offer.
