Anyone ride/have a Pashley Picador Tricycle? And, live in a city?

I've tried and tried to master riding a traditional bike but my dyspraxic brain isn't having any of it! So, I'm thinking of getting an adult trike! I love the look of the Pashley Picador but I'm scared I'll look like an idiot riding it? I live in Greater London and can imagine school kids will have a few things to say when they see me riding about on it and that's putting me off a bit! Should I ignore the misgivings and buy it?

(I don't drive and have two toddlers so my aim to buy the trike and have two seats fitted at the back so I can take the children out and about.)

I don’t have a Pashley or live in London but I’ve ridden a tricycle for over ten years. Some people will comment but most love it. They’re amazing to ride if you’re dyspraxic.

My friend growing up had one as she had cerebral palsy. I've also seen mum's with two kids use them (not in London but in a pretty rough area of the UK)

I would think with two kids on the back the automatic assumption would be that you have it for them.

Your post has really reassured me. DC1 has a balance bike and DC2 is in a buggy at present. We're only able to do short outings because the older DC gets tired very easily. I'm hoping the trike will get us out of our local area and exploring a bit further. We're in a decent area but I didn't want people rolling their eyes at a slightly overweight woman puffing away on a tricycle! The DC will be a good excuse!

Thank you for this. How easy are they to park up? I'm assuming they won't fit the traditional shopping centre bike racks.

I have one child on the back of mine. You might find an electric one easier with two as they are heavy going if you’re riding up a hill. Pretty easy to park, I have a decent lock and chain mine up.
Another option is a cargo trike. I would love one of the red kangaroo trikes.
