Cats. Why do they do this ?

That is, if you're sitting at a table or desk, reading a magazine or newspaper or doing some work at your laptop, cat or cats come and sit right on top of said publication or directly in front of the screen, thereby obscuring your view. Are they trying to attract your attention or just being twat pests for the sake of it ?

Cats probably wonder why you do things that mean you cannot given them 100% attention when they want it. They are cats after all.

I was watching TV last night with DH and out my head in his lap. DCat came over and swatted DH for paying me attention rather than her.

I work from home two days a week. I can guarantee that as soon as I am in a teams meeting, the oldest cat will take a dump. Now, this cat isn't normal. He doesn't dump and cover. Oh no, he dumps over the edge litter tray onto the laminate flooring and they are the stinkiest dumps in the world.

One of our cats used to jump up and sit on your person (cushions obviously not good enough) and knead your anatomy with his claws whilst purring loudly. He had sharp claws too, as the furniture and fence posts could attest!

Because they decide that your attention shouldn’t be on anything else

Why do cats go so wild after they have had a wee or poo

My cat runs around with his ears back eyes glaring jumping over furniture it’s like he has taken crack - maybe it’s the gas. He sprained his paw a few months ago during a post poo wild session

MILs Maine coon is 11kg
Shock That’s four times the weight of my little Yorkie.

Loving reading this thread. For the last two years been cat free for the first time in my life.
Just remember the old truism:-
Dogs have masters,
Cats have staff

He has always been HUGE and does like his food...

I picked him up and it was like carrying 2 bags of compost taped together end to end. His body length is so long!
