Oh no. I'm now a snorer.

Help!
Over the last few months I've turned into a snorer, I wake me self up with my grunts and poor DH hasn't had a good night sleep since.

No idea why I've suddenly started snoring (I've put on maybe 4kg, nothing too major but I feel like I've got a double chin now so maybe that's it)

Anyone got any good remedies? DH is threatening he will disappear in the spare room, which will make me sad lol

It could be the weight. Have you tried sleeping on your side?

There are all sorts of 'cures'. Nasal sprays, pillows etc. If it is bad perhaps go to the doctor (I know that is harder than winning the lottery right now!)

Mine is not curable though I have a breathing machine. I have snored since I was a child! Mine is very bad. My dad would come upstairs and tweak my nose! Bloody hypocrite, he snored too!!

I started snoring a few months ago and it's stopped now that i've lost around a stone. I was also embarrassed by it. As a side sleeper, i found it helpful sleeping on one firm pillow and hugging another pillow. It seems to prevent my chest squashing all together.

I developed snoring when I was pregnant and it woke me up from time to time. Use those breathe right nasal strips; you'll feel better yourself because the snoring will be affecting your rest too, bless you.

Thanks peeps. I'm going to raid Boots snoring department tomorrow. Might try to record myself tonight to see how bad it is, I'm sure there's an app for it! Grin

Is it just when you sleep on your back?

DGM had the most innovative cure for snoring I've ever heard of, I kind of wish DP snored just so I could recreate it! - My DGF snored, apparently, so DGM took his pajama top, with a pocket on it, put a tennis ball in the pocket and sewed it up.

She then told DGF he had to wear his pajama top back to front so the pocket was on his back.

Every time he rolled onto his back the ball made him roll onto his side/front again Grin

I snore, dd2 told me a few weeks ago when we were in a hotel room together sharing a bed. I fell asleep next to her and she burst out crying as she couldn’t sleep. I asked what was wrong, she told me and swapped with dd1 Blush
My dh snores, I now sleep in the spare bedroom which is much nicer and I can snore to my hearts content. Dh has never complained 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ask DH to say "turn over darling"

If you do, you will eventually do it without waking up.

Snored since a small child.

Badly.

My mum used to come and wake me up ha.

It dosent bother my husband and kids have always heard it and seem to tune it out.

I recently went away with my friend and she said it sounds like her husband's who has a snore machine.

I have always put off going to the doctors because they will say its because i am overweight.

I am sure it dosent help , but i have snored since i was little.

It dosent bother me Confused

I’ve recently picked up this habit over the past couple of years - I’m a heavy sleeper but my boyfriend stays once a week and is a light sleeper. He wears earplugs (I got him a selection from the Snore Store online) and if I’m really bad I’ll go into the spare room.

Could it be your age? I’m 49 and in the throes of perimenopause. My GP told me that as you hit this period some of the tendons and muscles in your body slacken and lose elasticity, including your voice box. My boyfriend has confirmed that I am a “throat snorer” rather than a “nose snorer”.

If it is waking you up it sounds like you have sleep apnoea, which can have serious health implications. You need to talk to your GP.
@Babababababybelll take your snoring more seriously. Yes, your GP will tell you to lose weight, because in most cases it will help with the snoring.

DH's snoring got worse and worse, then developed into sleep apnoea. He was referred to the sleep clinic where it was discovered that he was having 50 non breathing episodes an hour. He now uses a CPAP machine.
We think the sleep apnoea caused his stroke.
