Things to do in Dartmouth with wheelchair user

Hi all
I'm trying to be organised and make some bookings for our family holiday booking in Dartmouth, we have an adult who cannot use boats because of travel sickness and a child who uses a wheelchair. What should we do as most things seem either for younger kids (mine are 12) or not accessible. Any ideas?

This is a tough one : Dartmouth is quite hilly as you probably know! There is a nice walk which I think is fully accessible along the other side of the river from Dartmouth. If boats don't include very short ferry journeys you can get the lower ferry across to Kingswear - just walk on and stand/sit - and then walk upstream alongside the steam railway to the upper ferry, then cross back.

The steam railway itself goes to Paington and should be fully accessible. There is a nice bus journey to Brixham, again from Kingswear.

Agatha Christie's house at Dittisham is interesting and has accessible trails in the gardens but some are quite steep and it might be boring for a 12 year old.

Thanks, I panic booked something at a reasonable price so at least we're getting a holiday but I didn't appreciate how hilly it is. Are there any good swimming pools locally as the kids haven't been swimming since pre covid.

Thought of something else: the naval college does tours and is great for learning about naval history and you can often see cadets going through some of their training.

There is a leisure centre with a pool. www.fusion-lifestyle.com/centres/dartmouth-leisure-centre/

Naval college and railway websites:

Disclaimer: I don't actually live there but had a great holiday recently. Hopefully some locals will give you more ideas.
