Reminiscing about childhood books

Inspired by another thread (the one about colours) I thought we might be able to help each other out a bit... Can anyone post a link to childhood books, the illustrations of which spark joy..?

I’ll start, there was one about a fairground visiting town and the protagonists (rabbits I think) visited the coconut shy... I think it’s my ,OST glorious childhood memory. Does anyone else remember this book?

It sounds a bit like one of the Adams wood mystery books to me. I loved those.

I can remember one that I think was part of a collection of books. It was about soft toys and one of the toys didn’t want to share their chocolates so hung them from a tree. Then the leaves fell off and the toy was exposed as being selfish. I can remember reading that so many times and looking at the pictures.

The Jolly Postman and other people's letters. I loved that book so much and the little envelopes filled with letters to read. I looked after it so well, you can still buy it but can't see my children keeping it nice lol

Hilda Boswell's Treasury of Poetry (could only find a link to a book for sale). I absolutely loved this book as a child, especially the picture on the front cover, gazing into the fire. All of the illustrations were wonderful and I spent hours reading the poems. The book was read so much that it literally fell to pieces...I was lucky enough to find a copy in a charity shop a few years ago but it was a later edition with a different picture on the front so didn't quite have that childhood magic for me...

I had a collection of books that my Mum used to read to me but she gave them to my Aunt who put them to the charity shop. I'd have loved to pass them on to my own kids!

They were about a teddy bear family, I remember loving the story about their trip to the seaside but not much else.
