Is this normal? 8month old temp low but sweaty.

Dd is 8 months, for some reason I checked her temp last night and it was low, in the low/mid 35's. Gave her a thicker blanket. Didn't think too much of it... stayed up til 3am to keep an eye on her.

She's been totally fine in herself during the day and at night, eaten as normal, slept as normal, happy as normal.

Tonight her temp is low again, low 35s.
Googled and read body temp is lower at night. So figure it's fine, also checked the other kids and they're temp is low, in the later 35s.

But she is sweating/clammy. Her sheet is wet where her head has been on it. Her chest, back of her neck, hands are all warm, not boiling but not cold. Her face/head is cool. Breathing is normal. I just disturbed her sneezing and taking her temp and she's smiled away at me before getting comfy, getting dummy back in and nodding back off again.

We're using the braun no contact forehead thermometer. It seems to be pretty unreliable as I seem to be getting a variety of readings within seconds of each other. So am making a mental note to research and buy a better one. I have also used an underarm one and that is reading low too.

Is all this normal? I don't tend to feel her at night, as she sleeps through, so don't know if she's this cool every night and I'm just not aware. Any opinions? She's my third and I still don't have a bloody clue what I'm doing.

Whilst typing this out I've checked her temp again and its now 36.2.

I don't think I'd trust that thermometer. We have an in-ear one that has suddenly started reading way lower than it should - I'm glad I tried it on myself before I took DD's temperature recently because it wouldn't have picked up the raging fever she had.

It might be that your LO is actually fine, if 36.2 is correct it sounds about right. I'd go by how she seems for now, and get a new thermometer.
