Competitive hoarding is a thing on all my groups

Every time I join a group on Facebook it seems to rapidly turn into a group filled with posts where people show off all the stuff they've bought and hoarded away. Joined the organised mum group for cleaning tips and so many posts about shark hoovers and pictures of peoples cupboards with loads of cleaning products in. Popsy- joined for the dresses and buying for the sake of it seems to be actively encouraged, there are people buying them and selling them again a week or two later and posting pictures of wardrobes bursting at the seams with popsys. Even a book group I have joined is now 90% pictures of piles and piles of books (usually the poster says they're unread, what's the point of continuing to buy them?!)

Has hoarding become a new trend or have I just never noticed it before Confused

I think it began with that odious Mrs Hinch. I've seen 'gift baskets' on sale filled with pink cleaning products!

It's weird beyond belief.

I think people used to be embarrassed about so many things.
now they increasingly don't give a shit.
at least on social media

Had to Google Popsy...they're terrible. I love print dresses but these look cheap and awful.
