Where to buy children's coats? Other than Boden!

I've started looking for winter coats for my two DD, both under 6. I usually get them from Boden. I'm still happy to shop there, but want to look around a bit more this year. I like the quality, style and price of Boden, but where else could I look?

We love M&S for coats. They do a double layered coat which you can wear one or both of the layers and it is fab. Good sizes.
Sainsburys are pretty good for splash/puddle suits depending on the age you are buying for.

Big fan of Jojo Maman Bebe coats. Even bigger fan when you can get them secondhand on eBay if you choose wisely! Puddlesuits I normally get Regatta so I would definitely look at their coats too when DD is a bit older. School coats might be supermarket but again might be a bargain buy instead if I can snap up a bargain. She won't be wearing a £50 coat to school, that's for sure!

Joules or uniqlo

Coats and jackets from Sainsbury are always very good.

RhonaRed · 06/08/2021 22:17

Trespass 3 in 1 here.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 06/08/2021 22:18

Sainsburys Tu is excellent. I just gave a coat to the charity shop that DS2 has grown out of and it looks bloody perfect, despite a good couple of years of wear from a teenage boy.

Wallabyone · 06/08/2021 22:20

My children's are usually from John Lewis (they stock Joules too).

drpet49 · 06/08/2021 22:23

M&S. I tried Sainsburys but didn’t like the quality

MondeoFan · 06/08/2021 22:25

A dee is my fave coats. Fashionable and warm.

WhatAWasteOfOranges · 06/08/2021 22:29

Patagonia

JoborPlay · 06/08/2021 22:31

I agree with Mountain warehouse. Good quality winter coats.

BunnyBerries · 06/08/2021 22:36

Mountain warehouse last forever if you get a good one in a sale; great for waterproofs.

Joules often have coats in nicer than usual shapes that are good quality.

Pegasusmail · 06/08/2021 22:37

I love Asda for coats. Also H&M for rainmacs

FatAnkles · 06/08/2021 22:41

M&S or H&M (about 10 years ago!)

scrivette · 06/08/2021 22:53

Trespass, although DS has a North Face one which was very kindly given to him. It's amazing but I couldn't justify spending that much on a young child's coat to be worn at school.

uktrippin · 06/08/2021 23:23

Such a MN title 🤣

Mountain Warehouse here usually

drizzleabit · 07/08/2021 07:28

Thank you everyone.

I will look at what you've suggested especially Mountain Warehouse as seems very popular.

I usually get their light rain coats from Jules so will have a look at their warmer winter coats too.

Polarn O Pyret always seem so expensive so haven't looked in to their things, but will most definitely have a look after a few of you have recommended.

Thanks again!

I was going to say Tresspass or Regatta but they aren't the most stylish!

If I had DDs I'd be tempted to buy a cheaper "pretty" coat and then a more rugged everyday one for school/playground.

Solasum · 07/08/2021 07:53

Lands End and Polarn y pyret have lasted very well here

Sophiederuges · 07/08/2021 07:56

Decathlon or Polarn o Pyret.

DappledThings · 07/08/2021 08:07

Primark do really good ones in great bright colours. DS has had a beautiful red one from there that still looked new after two winters. DD had a yellow one from Morrison's that was the same.

loosingmymarbles · 07/08/2021 08:23

Childrensalon
Great range

Snoken · 07/08/2021 08:24

Polarn & Pyret or Didriksons was my go to places when kids were young. Great quality stuff.

BikeRunSki · 07/08/2021 08:26

Mountain Warehouse
Land’s End

We always get outdoor brand coats, but we are an outdoor family.
