Cosmetic / composite bonding

Has anyone had cosmetic bonding done on their teeth? I’ve been considering it for a while. I should’ve had a brace when younger looking back, but my dentist said that my teeth would straighten themselves. They’re not horrendous by any means, but some are smaller than others so could do with building up.

Are there any teeth it can’t be done on? Pros and cons? If you’ve had it done, are you glad you did?

I had a small gap between my front teeth closed with bonding. It worked really well and the colour match is perfect. The only downside is that it needs redoing every few years.

Can I jump on and follow this as I'm in the same situation as you!!

As a hygienist what bothers me about composite bonding is the staining ( tea coffee food etc) which may occur in time

Looks good tho. I’ve seen some incredible smiles

@DramaAlpaca Does it just gradually wear away then and you have it redone when it starts getting noticeable?

@Dandy0911 Sure! Do you want much work doing? I’m thinking top 6 central teeth.

@Heatherjayne1972 I don’t drink coffee or red wine, but do drink black tea. Do regular trips to the hygienist help with the staining?

Black tea stains teeth yes.

I would suggest regular hygienist appointments anyway. Best thing is to discuss it all with your dentist before they do anything

@Heatherjayne1972 Thanks. I go to the hygienist twice a year anyway, so that will help but definitely worth bearing in mind.

@Buttonmoonmrspoon yes, they can chip slightly and they stain. A good clean from the hygienist helps a lot but eventually it's impossible to completely get rid of stains so I get them redone.
