Accurate weather apps

I've three apps for weather but none of them seem to either show the same thing or be particularly accurate. I'm debating bringing the dog for a walk but one says torrential rain coming, another drizzle but when I look out the window it's bright and dry-ish.

It's so frustrating when you plan something because it's supposed to be crap / lovely weather and then it's the opposite!

AccuWeather Minutecast. It's not perfect, obviously, but I find it really useful for knowing when it's going to rain in the next couple of hours.

Welcome to British weather!

The BBC app has got really inaccurate lately - last Sunday it showed the cloud and sun symbol all day - no rain at all. Set off for my bike ride at 1015, got a mile down the road and the rain started. It didn't stop for the two hours I was on my bike! I checked the bloody app just before I went out! In fact I checked 3 - BBC, Iphone and WeatherPro - none of them said I would get wet!

I find Dark Sky useful for this hyperlocal use case.

Second vote for Dark Sky. Also there's a Norwegian site called yr.no which is often quite accurate.

BBC weather is hopeless and usually overly pessimistic.

For local weather in the next couple of hours, simply looking at the sky is by far the most accurate solution. Where we are, most of the weather comes from the west, so if the sky is clear looking out of the front door, you're usually safe for a couple of hours at least.

Agree then BBC seems to be the worst! Have put the accue one and and will see how accurate it is over the course of today.

I use Rain Alarm. It shows the latest radar image (updates every 10 mins) and wind direction so you can see if there’s rain nearby and if it’s heading your way.

Another vote for the dark sky app!

I used Dark Sky until it went Apple only Angry.

I've now looked and there are a few apps on Android that say they're 'powered by Dark Sky' so I've downloaded Hyperlocal and will give it a go.
