Secret support vest for younger girls

I’ve been able to find a few different secret support vests for women but poor DD is only ten, very slim but has pretty big boobs for a child. She really hates bras (and who can blame her) but she looks like she might be needing a bit of support for her bust now. She’s tall for her age so probably could get away with something for an 11 or 12 year old so any suggestions gratefully received. Or do I not really need to worry about support?

You don't need to worry about support. I went braless from 13 until...well now! I'm in my 40s. My breasts are still very upright. I've never liked bras and always just wore elasticated type vests when I got older.

There was no choice when I was a kid...it was a bra or a child's vest so I wore a vest.

There's growing research that says that women who wear bras actually have weaker muscles than those who do not.

Tons of girls are wearing crop tops at that age - boobs or not. Would a crop top (with a thickish band) give enough support? Cooler than a vest in summer too.

Gosh I’m so sorry, I thought nobody had replied! By support I mean I thought we all needed it, my boobs have always been small but saggy so I feel like I need support but dds aren’t like that and if you all say it’s not necessary than she can stay bra free. She’s tried a bra once and hated it so she’s more than happy just in a normal vest.
What a relief thanks all Smile

Next do a sports style crop top. That are thick and comfy. And hm

Daisy829 · 13/08/2021 09:29

My 10yo has some crop tops from primark she wears. Some of them are primark own & some are the brand pineapple. She seems to find them both comfy. The pineapple ones are quite sporty looking.

Mine have always wanted to sag since I was 13 so I've always needed something. I'm a DD. I hate wearing bras at home so I wear sports bras or bralettes. They don't give a lot of support but they do give a reasonable shape and stop that wild and free look.

@Binnaggy

Definitely crop tops. Or nothing. What do you mean when you say she needs support? Women don’t naturally need support for their boobs.
Well that's just not true. Personally I like being able to run and be active without pain and discomfort. For larger-chested women, bras are liberating, not some tool of the patriarchy!

M&S do some really comfy crop top type things my daughter prefers, they’re in ladies sizes 8/10/12 etc though so not sure they’d be small enough.

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 13/08/2021 10:17

She might not need support but she won't want anything to be noticeable under her school shirt so buy her some plain white crop tops.

Justletmelogon · 13/08/2021 10:21

We tried M&S for my DD 10. But Matalan had the best fit for her, shes tall and solid! She prefers the sport type with a thick band and racer back.
She unfortunately, like me, will probably have DD by 13 and J cups in her 20s.
I love bras as a pp said contains the wild n free look!
