7 year old's teeth - pic inc - what will happen?

Hi,

As you'll see in the photograph - DS age 7 has teeth coming down at all angles..

The smaller tooth underneath the big one coming down is an adult tooth, albeit a small one

Is his wee mouth gonna be a mess until he can get braces? We are in NI and his dentist won't see him Sad

I have a child who had similar with bottom teeth. As the adult teeth came in, they pushed the protruding tooth to a better position. Still needs braces though. Dentists seem to be starting to put apts in so I’d keep chasing. He’s probably a bit young for ortho referral just yet though (mine were referred in P6).

Oh yikes

Can you pop over the border for a appt? All dentists are open

My brother had something similar. His pointy teeth were up at the top inside when you lifted his lip. He had some teeth out and got braces and they were fixed.

That was a long long time ago but he had to wait until his adult teeth were in.

I expect we'll have to wait for any "treatment" to happen when he's older..

I feel so sorry for him

I'll maybe try to ring other dentists in the morning, I do like his dental surgery but they're no use to us if they won't see him

I wouldn't imagine they would do anything until all of his baby teeth are out and adult teeth are in because until then everything is all over the place.

irresistibleoverwhelm · 03/08/2021 23:21

Are any of them baby teeth? DD had two baby teeth that wouldn’t come out and they were pushing the new adult teeth into odd angles as they came in. Her dentist had to take them out in the end as they were starting to damage the new adult teeth - but he says it was a pretty routine procedure. I’d definitely see if you can get him seen at least.

Daydrambeliever · 03/08/2021 23:22

...and as for feeling sorry for him? I don't know any 7 year old that don't have mental teeth.

Ironmanrocks · 03/08/2021 23:22

Hiya. My boys weren't dissimilar when his front teeth came through. Very very wonky. It's been a year now (no dentist either. We go in 2 weeks!) they are much straighter now but I am looking forward to him being seen I must admit.

yellowdayblueday · 03/08/2021 23:26

The three you can see here are all adult teeth

Yeah I suppose most primary school children have mad teeth Blush but he is a bit funny looking, and he's always had very straight baby teeth

I will ring tomorrow
