Trial run as a kitchen assistant - any tips

Hi, I have a trial shift as a kitchen assistant, doing prep and washing up etc, tonight. It's a bar/restaurant.

I haven't done anything like this in over 20 years (I've been office based since I finished 6th form) so does anyone have any tips or pointers?

I'm going to keep busy and clean things on my own initiative in between my tasks, I've removed my nail varnish and filed my nails very short. I'll wear dri-fit 3/4 trousers and t-shirt. But I don't know what else to do to maximise the chance of them offering me a job.

Congratulations! Hope you enjoy it but it will be hard work.

I work in hospitality and can highly recommend this for your hands (and it's at a bargain price so I've just reordered more!)

I was going to get some udder cream but I'll check that link, thank you.

I've currently got duct tape round my thumb because the metal scourer shredded it and plasters won't stay on.

Its very hard work and I'm not a teenager anymore but I expect my back to stop hurting within a week 😂 it will get easier as I get used to it and my back and core get stronger I hope 🙈

I just ordered some business cards today to set up doing some cleaning so I'll put those out as soon as they arrive so hopefully I'll be flying soon 💪
