Just wondering about this. I know it varies but if you’re on holiday but not away do you go out much?

I’m feeling a bit fed up lately. Am out so much it’s actually starting to do my head in. And its expensive!

Then let her get shouty! She needs to stqrt learning to entertain herself, i'm sure you have lots of toys for her that she can play with

Yeah but it’s a bit … not sure that’s particularly brilliant parenting, and plus it would disturb DP.

I have three children (one is a toddler) and we go out somewhere every day in the school holidays. Yes it’s bloody expensive, I put money aside all year. If I was on my own though I wouldn’t go out so much, I do it for everyone’s sanity and so the children have a nice summer holiday. We’re out more this year than normal as we’ve been stuck at home with nothing to do for so long (and don’t know what the winter will bring) so making the most of being able to do stuff.
When I was on mat leave with just one baby we went out somewhere every day, but that somewhere might just be a walk or a go on the swings at the local playground.

I'm on annual leave today and have been out of the house for 12 hours - went out to the north york moors to go running and cycling, had a pub lunch, drove back and met a friend for a walk.

However, on Sunday I didn't leave the house at all and sat on the sofa all day! So it really depends.

Do you mean like housework and so on, kite?

Yes. Life still goes on - you all need to eat every day and obviously clear up from that and buy the stuff and cut the grass (if you have any), decorate, wash the car, sort your car insurance, do the laundry etc.

Not to the detriment of going out, but all that 'stuff' exists each week, so a couple of hours being out and a couple of hours doing 'stuff' and some relaxing. Pop round a visit my parents or my sister sometimes.
My eldest was up for a couple of hours a couple of times a night when little, but did often sleep for 75mins+ in the afternoon, so I'd put my head down then and sleep myself.
Each baby is different, but I found my days were pretty full just with household 'stuff' and looking after him.
