Buying/wearing childrens sizes

I've lost a lot of weight this past year though stress and literally none of my clothes fit me anymore. I'll be honest and say I was diagnosed with an eating disorder in April, I've been trying to gain weight but I'm struggling. None of my clothes fit me anymore ( This isnt a stealth boast or anything, I look horrible) size 6 doesnt fit me anymore. ( I was a size 10/12 to begin with )

I've been looking and I could fit into childrens clothes at this point. Does anyone buy childrens clothes for themselves and not look stupid? Obviously I'll buy as mature as I can but I'm already worried of matching a random child

My sister buys some items of children's clothes. She has always been a size 6 and is short. It is mainly things like plain T-shirts. She also needs to wear navy trousers for work and kids school uniform trousers were the only navy ones she could find to fit her for a while.

My dd is 5ft 3, and can wear a size 6 or 13-14 so they’d fit. You could get plain joggers, jeggings, leggings etc that would be ok for adult fashion?

Do you think your eating disorder will struggle to move up sizes, or cause you to restrict your diet in order to stay in those tiny sizes?

You can get or at least used to be able to get size 4 in new look, RI etc and I'd look at xs in Zara or massimo Duti before buying kids clothes
