Women's overalls with a hood for DIY

We've got loads sanding of sanding to do in our house and I'm so fed up of washing dust out of my hair every night. I searched for ages for some decorating overalls with a hood but pretty much everything comes in large or extra large (for men!) and I'm literally tripping up over the legs of a set of overalls designed for a 6 foot man. Does anyone know somewhere I might get some overalls with a hood for women? TIA!

Hazmat suits are available in different sizes, you can get them on Amazon.

Wear a shower cap!

I have a pair of the decorating dungarees from this crowd, which are excellent (and pink!). Really comfy and lightweight, but durable and the pockets are really deep for putting brushes/ sanding blocks etc in.

I’d do as another pp suggests and use a shower cap, or your hair in a bun under a baseball cap.

We have this problem at work, but there are lots of smaller overalls available.

For hooded ones, there's probably more choice in disposable ones or those designed for clean rooms. But the trouble is that a lot of the smaller sized ones assume that you're short and slim, so realistically might not fit unless you're a size 8-10 at most, especially as they're often not cut for women's hips.

To be honest, I'd just wear old clothes and a shower cap. Plus wouldn't you want a shower after dirty physical work anyway?

Can't you roll up the large ones, and wear a belt

trumpisagit · 02/08/2021 15:19

It's annoying. All the protective gloves also come in too large sizes.

I'd wear a beanie type hat or headscarf to keep it off your hair, a hoodie lets a lot of dust in.

I think its assumed the men will do all the hard and dirty work, while the women will pop the kettle on and look at photos of kittens

I wear my son's old shirts and just accept I'll have to wash my hair (tho it is very short).
Slight derail - can anyone recommend a palm sander, or detail sander? Hand sanding is proving difficult, I've got an arthritis flare-up. Can't be too heavy either.
Thanks, and sorry for jumping in, OP.

This.

Far more successful than a hood.
