Swimming aids for 7 year old

DD1 is almost 7 and has ASD and some sensory issues.
One of the things she enjoys most is to be in the water however her swim jacket is now getting too small for her and I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to replace it with. She won't wear arm bands however she loves the water so much that she doesn't listen and runs off to other areas independently leaving us struggling to keep up with her and will happily spend hours in the water.
She would only be taken to a pool as I'm frankly terrified that she would just float out in the sea as she runs off so quickly.
She cant yet swim because her love of the water seems to give her the inability to focus, concentrate or listen to anyone and a class would be a disaster. We are however now we are out of lockdown trying to find someone that will teach Sen kids on a 1-2-1 basis.
In the meantime however I want her to be able to enjoy the pool this summer and was wondering if anyone could recommend a float jacket or something similar for an older child? Any advice welcome Smile

A float jacket will not help with swimming. Try a noodle of ordinary floats to keep the best position in the water.

I used a swimfin successfully to get DD and DS both with ASD/Add/dyspraxia swimming

There are videos on YouTube showing how it works, they are now both competent confident swimmers

I got a swim fin recently. DD isn't overly keen but it does help, and you can do swimming on your back with it too.

We have a similar issue with my just-about-to-be 7 yr old. What about these?

We have also just started her with 1-2-1 swimming lessons with teachers specifically trained to teach ASD children.

If she loves the water I would put her in nothing and try to find a kids pool that comes up to her waist with no deep end; there are lots near us in london I don't know if that's common.

Pool noodles are great to help a child learn to swim. You can get inflatable ones too.

Thank you all for your suggestions- I will check these out!
There is a water park that we visited recently where the water comes to to waist height which was perfect for her. I was thinking of an aid more for use in a swimming pool. We are visiting a pool in a few weeks time and was hoping I could find something for her to use in time for our trip.
