Why do my bites always go like this now?

I’ve always been sensitive to being bitten (seemed I would get bitten more than others and always had bad itching and swelling) but over the last few years whenever I get bitten it’s awful. They go scarlet red most of the time, insane itching and often bruising too.

I have one under my knee that happened two weeks ago and is still a deep red / purple patch. Now this one on my outer thigh which is so painful and it’s already been about 5 days. Now the redness is going down a bit but what looks like a bruise in the middle.

I know all bites are allergic reactions, but do other people go like this? None of my family do but I’m more prone to allergies generally.

This is really interesting. My reaction to mosquitoe bites (but only those abroad) is extreme and no amount of antihistamines touch it. I wear 50% deet every evening abroad and normally manage to swerve the bites but if I forget even one night I'm bitten alive and the swelling, heat and itching is unbearable. One night in the Caribbean I forgot and had a bit on my little toe, my foot swelled to roughly 3 times the size for the next 3 weeks, even once I was home. It was huge and fluid filled like a water balloon and so itchy. I couldn't wear any shoes but flip flops. I dont have an autoimmune disease (that I know of) but every female in my mums immediate family does (all different ones). Now wondering if I do too. That skeeter syndrome is interesting. It certainly sounds like me
