Sudden waves of tiredness

Does anyone else have this? I keep getting waves of total exhaustion which last about 10 minutes and then I feel ok again. In that time I could easy fall sleep.

I'm sure it's not COVID related as I had it in February and this is recent and I test twice a week.

Anyone please?

If you are female, could it be perimenopause/menopause?

DuckyMcDuck · 28/07/2021 17:44

I am and am the right age sadly.

Any ideas what might help please? I can't take HRT though.

I have never taken HRT. I do find upping vitamin D3 helps. I think I have heard magnesium too? But haven't tried that. Sadly I have also found cutting down on wine helps.

Oh, and staying well hydrated.

I have this - I could suddenly fall asleep in an instant (and normally do if I’m at home). I’ve got low iron, vitamin d and blood pressure.

It's not as extreme as your case, but I had a mild virus in February 2020 and ever since when I get run down or stressed, I'm prone to waves of fatigue that last an hour or two. It's not total exhaustion and I can function, I just feel suddenly so weary.

Chinese medicine and acupuncture for peri and menopause. Really helped my friend.

RainingZen · 29/07/2021 02:53

Yes I was going to say vitamin D. Can cause awful fatigue.

MinnieMountain · 29/07/2021 06:16

Vitamin B and iron help too (another one who can’t take HRT).

DuckyMcDuck · 29/07/2021 14:18

Thank you for the suggestions. I already take Vit D and a multi vitamin. I might get an iron supplement too.

I've theoretically been in the menopause for 7 years now (artificially brought on by tamoxifen and now letrozole) and just when I think it's getting a bit better, along comes another delightful symptom.

I’ll join you in the singalong OP. I’ve been on Tamoxifen for 3 years.

It’s pants isn’t it?
