Do I need neighbours permission before I rescue some hens

Hiya, so I am planning to rescue 4-6 ex battery hens and have a lovely large garden for them to roam in. I have a coop and everything sorted out but I've been told by a friend I should get neighbours permission first?

I don't see why their preference trumps mine and I'm not sure the etiquette here but I'm not getting a cockerel so there'll be no cockadoodledooing going on.

Would you get permission first or not?

I keep my chicken feed in a metal bin which rodents can't get into. Food is never left out over night and we don't have a rodent problem. Rodents will go to food sources - chicken or otherwise, the biggest draw as a result of what humans get up to is bins at the back of restaurants etc. rather than well-kept pets. My chickens make occasional noises but most of the time you wouldn't know they were there (I have 13 in a rural place).
