My teen has walked her foot into a state - hideous pic

My 16 year old has been doing her duke of Edinburgh and has come home like this on one foot.

We bandaged it round last night but it’s weeping today!

I am in two minds whether it needs actual medical attention at this point but I am terrible at deciding these things!

What do people think - leave it or ask gp?

I feel her pain 9ve Ben crippled with blister even bleeding back of the heel, utter agony, today I’m better socks always no matter what the weather.

This always happens to me, no matter how often I've worn a pair of shoes. If I walk a little further than normal they will rub my feet raw. I think I must have a weird heel or foot shape, who knows! Clean it, bandage it well and keep an eye on it. It will heal, also let the air to it as much as possible.

@fellrunner85

got my half marathon PB with one foot in this state, and it never occurred to me not to run. I think those of us who regularly do long distance endurance exercise have a different concept of "normal"!

You'd have no problem with her going on...can you spare a thought for mountain rescue...who will be collecting her 8 miles in???

It may be worth investigating fell running type shoes at a good, independent sports shop.

As your DD is ASD, some ASD kids have a slightly different gait to NT kids. They can toe walk more or land more flat footed and this can contribute, along with the not liking shoes tight, to the blisters.

I have walking "trainers" rather than boots that have seen me through field trips with school, hikes and travelling worldwide with no issues. They're fantastic.
