Good morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just having a cup of coffee while dd2's having breakfast. When she's finished, I'll nip up and get dressed.

Only one load of washing to do today & that's almost finished so can go on the line when I come down.

We need to clean dd2's praying mantis' enclosure today - he runs faster than The Flash, when he comes out, so I'm hoping he'll take a fly from one of us & be busy with that while she cleans the enclosure Grin

I think we'll all wander to Lidl as well for a couple of pizzas and some chips/french fries for tea, and something for Sunday dinner. Might pick up a bottle of wine too.

Other than that, I want to finish the second sleeve of the wrap cardi I'm crocheting for myself. I expect the girls will Minecraft the afternoon away & I'm going to sit down with dd1 to look at revision techniques. Her grades are really good anyway so I think a little bit of revision will help keep them that way.

What's everyone else up to? Anything exciting now it's cooled down? :)

Only me and DD up so far. Had porridge and coffee. Made some sweet potato and courgette soup. Football practice later on. Might go to the pool in the PM.

As usual - housework - with half an eye on the olympics - there is still the kitchen and the ironing to do.

DH is preparing köfte, bread and salad for our midday meal.

We are going on holiday! Reached the glamorous surroundings of Knutsford Northbound services. The sun has just come out!

Just back from the beach with the kids. Had a lovely swim then a coffee on the walk home.

Dinner cooked by dh tonight, curry I think. Then maybe watch a film later on, I fancy something nostalgic like dirty dancing or grease.

@HollyandIvyandallthingsYule no worries, and thank you!

We're just in from Lidl. Not quite the quick walk down & back I'd hoped for - it took hours to get the girls into gear & moving 🙄

Now for an hour or two of peaceful crochet, then cook pizzas for tea & have a glass of wine or two.

NotThatSocial & ProudPeacock enjoy your holidays!

Prokupatuscrakedatus my kitchen could maybe do with a once-over. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow...

@Devonchills Similarly wanted something nostalgic to watch last night so I'm half way through watching An officer and a gentleman. Only 1/2 because the sun is shining and it's drilled into me 'no TV during the day'.

My day has consisted of dog walk, lunch, parcelling and posting some ebay sales, laundry and cleaning of 2 toilets (the others can clean the showers).

Tonight my youngest is making lasagne from leftover bolognese. So no cooking but I'll supervise.

@lucysmam I figure as long as it gets to you by August you’ll have it in plenty of time, and you could even do a test run with a gingerbread haunted house for Halloween (if that’s your kind of thing)! But again, apologies for it taking so long.

After being woken up by thunder at 4am, it kept me awake for a while, at about 6am I was about to give up and go downstairs but then I fell into the most amazing sleep. Woke up at gone 10. Feel the most energised I have in weeks!! So I’m lying on the sofa, reading, mumsnetting, half an eye on the olympics. I need it after the week I’ve had. We’ll have some invention of DPs for tea in a a bit, but I plan to drink plenty of wine to get through it.

Bliss

A Halloween house sounds fun! It'll give the girls an excuse to pick loads of random sweets to decorate when Home Bargains start stocking Halloween stuff (they need less encouragement than me in there...especially dd1 Grin )

Such a lovely day! I went up yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) to see the sunrise. Back for a full breakfast, then potter. But i had to nap earlier, only 3 hours sleep last night.

Lasagne and chips for tea then early to bed!

That sounds like a nice, relaxing, way to start the day MrsDThomas! I like to sit here, with the window open, and have a cup of tea in silence. The only sounds usually are the neighbour's children in their garden & the birds in the massive sycamore at the end of my garden :)

Its stunning up there @lucysmam. I often go. It’s busy up there most times in the summer, its a 24 hour thing. A friend wanted to go so thats why i went. Mist of the time i chose a quieter mountain.
