I can't stop throwing up, sorry for the TMI but I'm 6 months pregnant and feel so poorly

Sickness hasn't been a feature during the pregnancy, a touch of mild heartburn here and there but nothing extreme.

I felt fine until 4ish this afternoon when I started getting a bit of heartburn (first time in weeks) so I took some basic ant acid tablets.

That feeling got worse to the point I was throwing up everything in my system until it was just bile. I can't keep any food down at all, even water is coming back up so I'm totally depleted and running on empty still the retching and throwing up continues.

I have the burny feeling in my stomach chest and throat that indicates heartburn/reflux but I'm throwing up like I have a stomach bug. Endlessly.

Toddler DD was sick a few times yesterday morning which we put down to the heat.

Would you be inclined to think it's a stomach bug or just bad reflux? No chance of seeing a GP now until next week, if I'm lucky.

I feel horrid Sad

Stomach bug I’d say because of the timing, you poor thing Sad I hope it is so that it passes quickly as they usually do. Stay hydrated and feel better very soon!

It sounds like a bug, especially if DD was ill yesterday. Noro is doing the rounds.

You have all my sympathy - ghastly things sickness bugs.

You need to take tiny sips of water as it’s more likely to stay down like that.

Hopefully you won’t be vomiting for too much longer then you can think about rehydrating with dioralyte or similar.

I caught noro when I was 17 weeks pregnant and ended up quite ill with it (admitted to hospital overnight as I was tachycardic and very dehydrated). I’m not saying this will happen to you but if you don’t stop throwing up in the next few hours and managing to keep water down please get checked out if you start feeling really unwell.

I think so too, ugh I haven't had one of these since I was a child Sad

We've been lucky with sickness bugs considering we have two small children, it just so happens that me and DD went to DS' half term party on Wednesday so that's probably where it came from. A hot humid hall full of 3-5 year olds.

I'm struggling to keep water down which is a worry Blush

Thank you, I'll try my best to stay hydrated but will call 111 for advice if no improvement in a few hours.

It has started coming out the other way now too iykwim.

Gah I'm so sorry to be posting such gross things. If DH was here he'd be hearing all about it instead Blush

How can you tell if you're tachycardic?

I say here, I mean in the bedroom with me, he's currently in the living room snoring his head off after supposedly taking the night off work to look after me / the kids because I'm unable to. Cheers DH Envy

Instead of sipping water, try sucking on a small ice cube every 15 mins or so. Increase the frequency as and when you can to get sufficient fluids into your system.
I hope you feel better soon op 💐

I think this could be a bug as we have all just had it as a gift from nursery. I sympathise as I'm not pregnant and can honestly say I felt awful

That's a good idea! Thank you

I don't have any made up so will drag myself out of bed to put some in the freezer as I can't see me getting any sleep tonight.

I've just read that noro is rife in early years settings and nurseries atm so I'm now positive that's where it's come from.
