So DS 16 had Covid in May. He did the 10days isolation and a LFT at end.

He needs to travel to Germany next week and as he's not eligable for a vaccine this end, I think I need something to show he did have Covid ....he's getting a PCR test certificate beforehand but Ive just read about this certificate of recovery but not sure how to go about it

I've never heard of it but are you sure there is such a thing? What would be the point of it, as he could catch covid again anyway

Was he 16 in May? Dont know if this matters.
Can he download the NHS app, and get it from there? Think its 16+ for international travel (18+for the domestic one?!)

Did you read about that certificate on the German government website? Because it's fairly standard here in Germany as one of the three ways you can show you're unlikely to have covid: fully vaxxed, or a pcr test, or a Genesenenzertifikat (literally a recovered person certificate). The certificate is valid for 6 months from the date of a positive pcr test. But I'm not sure the UK issues a certificate in a format that Germany would accept. What written evidence does he have of his positive test in May? Could you try contacting the German embassy and asking (bet they love covid questions)?
I'm sure you already know that the only alternative is a 10-day home quarantine, with the option of buying yourself out after 5 days with a negative pcr. My impression (from DD quarantining at Christmas) is that there's very little follow-up on whether people are actually staying home.

I have the NHS email result showing his PCR was positive.

Im going to see if GP will send me a letter as proof of his positive test as well....I suppose if I gather as much evidence as possible it will help.

So will have GP letter confirming positive in May
NHS email confirming positive test in May
Get a PCR test certificate done before he goes
A letter/email from sports club saying why he's travelling (sports trial) and where he's staying
Letter from us giving consent to travel with our contact details etc

Then I believe you can upload all of this as well

Im going to nip into a travel agent tomorrow to see id they can help Confused

You can get a Covid pass which is valid for 180 days after a positive PCR.

Don’t think it’s valid for international travel though:
