Does anyone know this area please?
We are going there on holiday (Stackpole) with two teenagers are would be grateful for any ideas on keeping them entertained!

I don't know stackpool - but Tenby is lovely might be worth a day trip though parking is difficult I belive - we travel by train usually. There have some great boat trips there - I've never been greatly impressed with caldey island either time I've been but there are frequent boat trips from Tenby out there and others I know think it's great.

We also enjoy Pembrook castle - they did free guided tours which were fantastic - plus lovely pub near castle and moat were we did lunch.

It's got quite a few castles in the area - most castle dense bit of Europe apparently - I know IL did walking hoiday in Tenby and walked out to one on the coast.

I believe www.oakwoodthemepark.co.uk/ is in the area - haven't been as again driving - but older children went with school and had a great time.

Coasteering, kayaking and climbing- there are outdoor pursuits companies which do all of those.

Some boat trip places do fast boat trips.

Skomer and Ramsey islands are great for birds if you’re into that.

Cresswell Quay if they’re not too old for crabbing. Either way it’s pretty and has a pub.

The coast path runs all the way around Pembrokeshire. You could walk to Manorbier which has a pretty castle.

I hear Oakwood has gone downhill. Best to check recent reviews.

Oakwood Park is a reasonable distance from Stackpole, as are Folly Farm and Manor Wildlife Park. Folly Farm is more geared at little ones but it's a pretty decent wildlife park in it's own right now too. Both have experiences you can pay extra for to get up close to certain animals if that's of interest.

Bluestone has a water park, but with covid restrictions that might still just be for guests only and not general public (previously you could book in as a member of public). Worth checking out though.

Cardigan Bay also has some dolphin tours that are run from boats which are wonderful, although that could be a bit more of a drive than you want.

For pure simplicity you're on the doorstep for some of the most amazing beaches in Wales. Freshwater West and Barafundle Bay are simply beautiful and there may be surf/paddle board facilities that could interest your teens. If any of you have a soft spot for Harry Potter and Dobby, they filmed the Shell Cottage scenes at Freshwater West.

Barafundle Bay and there are some good surfing beaches. Tenby is pretty for a day out and fish and chips. The coastline is beautiful and there's plenty of good walking.

Stackpole is beautiful..... as are the local beaches. Have a look at www.heatherton.co.uk and www.carewkarting.co.uk - had some great times at both. Tenby is beautiful, drive to St David's Cathedral - loads to do.

Thank you for all the recommendations :)
Struggle to keep the 17 year old occupied, especially as his older brother isn't coming this year!
We were hoping to go to Bluestone waterpark but yes, that's still closed for day visitors.
They all love crabbing and boat trips, especially if there's a speedy boat! Will have a look at the animal parks.
Definitely will have a couple of days on beaches - a BBQ on the beach would evening would be nice too.
Also, any eating out recommendations? Something a bit different?

The castle could be an idea too!

If you make it to Tenby, I’d definitely recommend SandBar for something quirky. When we went, it had skateboards hanging on the walls, scaffolding tables and beer taps straight from the wall. The menu has a definite Tex-Mex influence with their own slant. Our tacos were served in a toast rack!
Plantagenet Houseis also good for something a little less usual.
Watermans Arms in Pembroke (really close to the castle) does food that will please everyone, but what makes it a bit special is the outside dining, so request a table outside.

Avoid Oakwood, it’s dangerously run down and poorly run.

Wild Lakes Wales looks like fun, it’s newly opened and we are planning a day trip there at some point.

Beaches - Barafundle and Broadhaven South are within walking distance and stunning. Abereiddy is good for jumping and diving. Freshwater West is a good surf beach but if you are inexperienced I would only go there with an instructor present - there are dangerous currents there.

Food - Caffi Mor on Freshwater West serves the best vegi burger you will ever eat. Ultracomeida in Narberth for tapas and The Dragon for a Sunday roast.

Colby Woodland Garden is lovely for a chilled day out but may not appeal to teens. My 13yo has asked to go to Folly Farm though so that must still appeal!

If you don’t mind a bit of a drive there is a place that does canoeing trips up the river near Cardigan that is good fun, and Pizza Tipi in Cardigan is a good lunch spot whilst you are there.

Have a lovely time
