What do you call a mat that you stand ornaments on?

I want to buy a fancy mat/cover for standing a vase of flowers on, but don't know the best search term to use. Do they have a proper name?

Just out of interest @BrainFuz -why do you need something in-between?

I think I might just put the vase on the glass shelf but there are round mirrors meant for this sort of thing that I use at christmas-would that work?
