Act of kindness

My DH dropped his wallet without realising today, in a city a few hours away where he was working and a lovely kind lady managed to get in contact with me and he's got it back 😊

It made me really happy to be on the receiving end of some kindness 😊

Any other little stories to make a positive thread?

Broke down abroad once and multiple drivers appeared and got the car to a garage, the caravan to the site and pitched up.. Even one holiday maker got us some groceries!
Nobody spoke English either!

Me and my husband try to complete a random act of kindness once a month.

It might be a charity donation or buying someone's coffee. This month I'm doing a sponsored walk to raise money a defibrillator for our local school.

Would love some ideas for the next few months

When I had two little children sitting in the shopping trolley, had put the shopping through the til and then found I had no bank card the lady behind me paid for my shopping ! I will never forget it.

@Sleepingdogs12 wow that's incredibly generous!

@keeganface that's so nice! I've found people have been extra kind since having a baby, just yesterday I was struggling to pack my couple of bits of shopping and hold baby and someone came and held the bag for me.
The small things really mean a lot, as well as larger things obviously! I'm trying to be more observant. A lady dropped her eggs on the supermarket car park the other day and I offered her some wipes. She declined but glad I offered.

This is ages ago when I was in my early 20s, but I was going to an important meeting arranged by my boss at a hotel in the middle of the countryside, by train and taxi. My bank decided to stop my card for no apparent reason and I couldn't get the money out at the first station to get a taxi at the other end (already had train ticket). When I called the bank on the train they said I had to tell them exactly what I had spent at Tesco two days before for them to unlock my account, which I had no idea about. So I was panicking about how I was going to get from the station to the hotel, and a man came up the train and gave me £20, he had obviously heard my distress on the phone. He didn't want it back so I gave the same amount to charity later. So kind of him, I still think of that.

waited for 3hrs at GP today.
DD was getting peckish so I thought I'd get her a snack (there's like small corner shop type counter next to waiting area, I don't know the name for it).
they are card only payment.

so she went to look and I got my purse out and realised I left my credit card in my jacket pocket! urgh. I had cash but didn't want to bother the shop assistant.
I wasn't loud and I said I'll get her something when we finished and she was ok with that.
but the lady next to us overhead and offer to buy her a snack & drink!

I could've cried! what a sweet soul!
I insisted in paying her back, she finally accepted £2 of £2.20.

she made my day❤

Not exactly the same thing, but I'm the only employee in a project with a lot of volunteers.

It's absolutely extraordinary the care volunteers take over their work. One woman stays for hours to sort our carrier bags for us. Another, who delivers food parcels, sends me detailed feedback each week along the lines of "X very grateful for parcel, Y said to say thank you for cherries last week" etc, and mainly people just keep turning up and giving their time and doing things to an exceptional standard, higher than you'd expect in a paid role frankly.

@EssentialHummus that's really lovely to hear! So nice when people can give something back through volunteering 😊

I was buying up some reduced price bread when skint, and was discussing with my oh about leaving some for others. At the till, a lady who had overheard gave me £20 to pay for my food. I'll never forget her kindness.
