I feel like I need a careers advisor!

Like the ones that came round at school.
The older I am getting the harder I find it to bite my tongue around management, especially when they are asking constantly for help/advice on aspects of their job that they should know and I shouldn't (in theory). I left my old job around 4 months ago and thought I had struck gold at my new place, unfortunately the manager that interviewed me was then replaced by the current manager. They are.....ineffective.
I can't do this again, I don't get paid enough to deputise for them and I don't want the stress to be honest. I keep thinking I would be better off working for myself, the problem is I have no Idea what I would/could do to earn a full time wage.
I am stuck because I can't take time off to train (can't afford it) I already work in excess of 50 hours per week and have a youngish family so I don't have loads of spare time. Even if I did I'm completely directionless.....
Any ideas?

You can see a careers advisor. Careers coaches can be very helpful. Or work through a career handbook like 'what colour is your parachute' or similar. Look through the local job ads all the time with an eye to what you could(n't) do and how much it pays.

Another vote for what colour is your parachute. Also have a look at the icould website and careers quiz aimed at youngsters but gives pointers

Okay great, thanks. I'll have a look at those.
