Anyone done dvla medical forms? Please help!

Applied for DS provisional back in April online.

Ticked medical condition and got some forms. Completed them and returned them 6 weeks ago.

Just received some more forms 10 days after being posted I have to return 14 days from date if letter Hmm

I don't understand what they want and the phone lines just always say they are receiving high demand, use website and "goodbye".

The forms we completed are because he has a physical condition and we did put he is also on the autistic spectrum.

These new forms are the same on the front but the back asks about the condition he's been diagnosed with and ask his MH nurse or CPN if needed for advice. Confused

It appears to be about a MH condition which he doesn't have and didn't disclose and about his recent drug and alcohol use! (He's never had either!)

The letter or form do not actually explain what condition these forms are for and I can't actually speak to anyone to find out why he has them.

But they won't continue the process and may cancel if revoke the forms if they are back late (which they are now overdue).

Anyone able to help?

Usually there is an option to continue on a separate sheet. I wrote a summary and included the names and contact details of all my HCPs.
Anything else I just put N/A.
Keep photocopies of everything.

Can't you just write Not applicable on the back, or None or something, and return them? They are completely backlogged at DVLA, and were even before covid.

They sent me extra forms stating that I had told them about a new condition. I hadn't, it is exactly the same condition I tell them about every single time. ( I have to reapply for my licence every 3 years).
They are pretty clueless tbh.

I suppose I could write N/A but it doesn't actually state what condition they are asking about.

The questions are just all yes/no to MH questions.

The original forms asked all about his physical disability, medication he takes for it, his walking, can he drive a manual etc or hand controls.

I'm just going to put ASD and HSP again on the forms and give neuro contacts.

Then where it is asking about last contact re "this condition" (the one I don't know I'm replying about 🤦🏼‍♀️) it's clear the only conditions he sees a consultant about is the HSP.

The only thing is could possibly be is the autism.

But you'd hope a large governmental department in the 21st century would know autism is NOT a MH condition.

The people who send out the forms have no medical knowledge whatsoever. You just have to keep providing the correct information and eventually it gets through.

Which would be easy if I knew what the correct information was - I have no idea what condition I was meant to state I was answering MH questions about 🤣🤷‍♀️

DVLA group ASD under mental health conditions, so it will be that that they are asking information on. For drug and alcohol use just put none.
